Description
PLEASE NOTE –
This is a glow engine not gas but could be converted if you wanted to but the glow engine produces1/2 hp more than the petrol one.
The description from the US agents (SVENSON SPECIALTIES) describes it as follows: “The Zenoah G23 Glow engine is essentially the same engine as the G23 Gasoline engine. The primary differences between the 2 engines, are the lack of a magneto and flywheel, the addition of a glow plug adapter and a methanol carburetor on the glow engine”
“To set the G23Glow engine up for running, it is recommended that a “non nitro” fuel mixture is used. A mixture of 5 ounces of Blendzall Racing Castor to 1 gallon of methanol provides a reliable fuel mixture.
An “idle-bar” type glow plug is not recommended for the G-23 Glow engine”
In my opinion it would be very easy for an experienced modeler to fit electronic ignition with a commercially available sensor mount (C&H for example sometimes listed on trade me!)
A change of carb gaskets etc. to accommodate petrol would also be required.
This motor has never seen fuel.
